The 13th World Congress of Consuls took place between 6 and 9 November in Limassol, Cyprus. The gatherings are held every 3 years and this year coincides with the 40th anniversary of FICAC (World Federation of Consuls). Over 90 countries were represented by nearly 200 delegates, kindly hosted by the Cyprus Consular Association.
The importance of the Congress was marked by the election of the new FICAC Governing and Board of Directors. Our Association was well represented and honored with a high honor - the Chairman of AHCB Hon. Borislav Boyanov was elected to the 9-member Board of FICAC, among competition from 15 candidates.
The Honorable Nikolaos Margaropoulos takes over the leadership of the Federation, uniting over 25,000 honorary consuls worldwide. Below you can find the full list of the new directorship.
APKB was represented by Mr. Borislav Boyanov HCG Malta, Ms. Yanchovska HCG Norway, Ms. Evgenia Popescu HC Romania, Mr. Krasimir Simov HC Indonesia and Hristo Bushev Secretary AHCB, as well as the Hon Consuls of Bulgaria in India, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
