Dear FICAC Members,
We are pleased to share the outstanding outcomes of our 14th World Congress of Consuls, held from October 29 to November 1, 2025, in Marrakech, Morocco.
The Congress brought together more than 200 delegates representing 87 countries at the Es Saadi Resort, marking a significant milestone in global consular cooperation. Hosted by the Union of Honorary Consuls in Morocco (UCHM), this gathering reaffirmed the vital role of consular diplomacy in bridging nations and fostering international understanding.
Key Highlights:
Leadership for 2025-2028 Hon. Nikolaos K. Margaropoulos was re-elected as FICAC President, and Hon. Asif Chowdhury as Vice-President. Our newly elected Board of Directors represents our truly global reach, with members from Ghana, India, Italy, Monaco, Israel, Belgium, Honduras, Kazakhstan, and the United States.
Constitutional Modernization The General Assembly approved important amendments strengthening our governance structure.
Strategic Discussions Two comprehensive panel discussions addressed contemporary challenges in consular work: "Bridging Nations in Modern Times" and "Navigating Modern Diplomacy," covering topics from economic partnerships and cultural dialogue to health diplomacy, cybersecurity, and climate action.
